Mysterious duck Egg?????

I have 5 mallards and 4 pekins. Today i knoticed a little white egg in the yard beside there pool. The mallards are 17 weeks and so are the pekins. who's could it be?

Id say it was the Pekin. Mallards should lay a green egg..
Are you shure that you have Mallards? They might be Gray Calls...

I second Dances with Ducks (whose name, by the way, I think is awesome

Mine always lay really weird eggs at first, and in weird places as though they just really weren't expecting something to suddenly pop out of their behinds, so it just comes out wherever they happen to be. The first few are always quite small, and sometimes odd shapes--I've had perfectly spherical eggs, some with soft shells similar to a reptile's egg, double-yolked eggs, and eggs that were almost a cylinder. They even out over time, although some of my ducks (they are runners) continue to lay somewhat oblong eggs even in their second year, but they are much closer to a standard shape than some of those early eggs.

Also, I never have figured out which eggs go with which duck--I'm amazed that some people can discern this and keep records of that. All I know is *how many* are laying, but never which ones.
