EDIT: So it turns out my brother got the chickens for free and didn't want me to chastise him for getting more chickens. *facepalm*

So.....um.....my brother went into the chicken pen a few minutes ago and discovered we've apparently been visited by the chicken fairy because there are SIX new hens in our coop that weren't there this morning. O_O All are in good health. Our guess is someone came while we weren't home and dumped their unwanted hens in our coop.

I'll post pics tomorrow. One of them is pure black feathers with a really pretty green sheen to them. They all look super healthy and after we pick them up they calm down pretty quick. It makes me think they were loved and whoever did this just couldn't afford them anymore.

Hope they'll fit in well with your existing flock! Do you have enough room to take in that many more?

Barely. I'm gonna hafta add onto the hen house to make them as comfortable as I'd like though.
