So I've started seeing duck eggs along the bank of the pond instead of IN the pond. This is progress. I thought squirrels or raccoons were eating the eggs overnight so I've been looking out there several times a day looking for eggs. The eggs I've found along the bank have all been punctured and there is about a 1" hole in the eggs. insides are in the egg or puddled on the ground.

Does this sound like something the ducks would do to their own eggs or does this sound like the geese are seeing the eggs and making sure they are not viable?

I don't want to go out too soon and disturb the ducks when they are laying but I would like to beat whoever is breaking the eggs to them!

sounds like crows

Ive seen ducks eat whole eggs and they smash it open and eat shell and all. But anythings possible
Oooh, you are so smucking fart. There are crows out there too. I may never get any of my own duck eggs, but I'll keep trying. :)

Mine live like wild ducks. They have a 5 acre pond and won't go back into the pen they grew up in. So yeah, they are outside. I don't have a run to contain them in till they lay unfortunately.
