name of color pattern?

Pic a bit far so not 100% sure but it really looks like it's probably a blue gold duckwing.

EE usually are not completely pure for anything so it could be a blue gold duckwing with 'an extra gene or 2' thrown in to alter the pattern slightly.

If you want more that look more or less like him, breed with either duckwing or silver duckwing hens.

Blue gold duckwing. He might like that.

I'm not sure if he would be insulted or complimented by the duck part though. The only ducks he has ever known were not very bright.

Thanks!

Haha! Duck owners are gonna nibble you down for that though..

'Duckwing' refers to the light colored patch on the secondaries on the roosters. (on the rear part of the wing when folded- not directly on the 'arm' part)

Gold and silver duckwings often are considered one of the prettier colors.. check out gold duckwing phoenix etc. to see examples of this color/pattern. The hackles "ideally" are solid blond color but again, EE normally are quite mixed with extra genes thrown in to alter the appearence.

BTW your rooster is very pretty!

Sorry, didn't mean to insult ducks. I really liked the six weeders we had, but they had a difficult start in life--two weeks of torment at the feed store 'cause nobody wanted to buy them. They never really recovered.

I may try some more next year.

BTW, Blonde, James Blonde liked the blue gold part. I said duckwing under my breath, so I'm not sure he caught it. I'll sneak it in another time.
