My small family will be taking ownership of an adorable homestead piece of property the end of July and boy do I have plans! But I am not great with words and am trying to figure out a name for this lovely place.

As of now there is myself, my husband, our two children (boy and girl ages 4 & 6), two whippets and a hefty kitty. We will be adding a livestock guardian dog (great pyrenees), Nigerian Dwarf goats for milking and breeding, some black belly barbados sheep for grazing and selling babies, and a mix of chickens for eggs (of course). We will also be doing some gardening and selling of a few specific items (Kale, carrots, beets, tomatoes, herbs, figs, plums, apples, strawberries).

I will be an at home farming momma and I am also a portrait photographer in our area (www.bettyboyce.com)

so I am attaching a couple pictures to inspire some thoughts ... the home and barn sit on just over 2 beautiful acres )

The cedar shingle siding makes me think of a gingerbread house. Maybe go in that direction ... Gingerbread Farm
or Cozy Acres

Tannendorf or Untentannenbaumer works if you have Germanic heritage. Translates to spruce village or under the spruce trees.

Valdheim or Waldheimat (forest home in old Norse or German respectively) might work also.

The house and forest have a very German or Scandinavian feel to me.

I agree, it looks like something out of Brothers Grimm or HCA fairy tales. Perhaps you could google something out of that.

You should try to use your children's names or initials some how, your dogs, house and even trees could change over the years, but your children will be in your heart
