Okay, I have 6 chickens and one duck.
There is Owl, Coconut, Pumpkin, and Kodiak.
4 names and 7 birds! See something wrong here?
I can't figure out a name for my duck, my little rhode island red hen, and my silver laced wyandotte!!
Just to get more info...
Owl looked like a little owl as a baby
Coconut is a white silkie.
Pumpkin had an orange face as a baby and it made me think of a Pumpkin.
And Kodiak is the name of one of my story characters and it fit my jersey giant so there.
But its hard getting the name to stick...gah(I named it this yesterday, but I'm trying hard!)
I have an unnamed rhode island red, who's daring and the first to try new things. She's dark red with an orange belly. Any ideas? Her name WAS Ladybug and Autumn, but those names melted away.
I have an unnamed pekin duck. She/he(unknown) doesn't really like me but will eat from my hands, and if in a good mood, let me stroke him/her. She/he is starting to develop white wings after being yellow, but is sort of brownish. Before I got him/her, I wanted to name her/him Banana but I cant get that name to stick!! argh!! And ducks, for some reason, are so much easier to think of names! Like Pizza, Cracker, or Banana would fit a duck soooo much better than a chicken and yet I still cant think of anything!
And my lovely silver laced wyandotte! She was my favorite and my very first chick that I got(with Kodiak) Shes very friendly, loves to sleep on my lap while I stroke her, and even will let me carry her around for a long time, which the other chickens are not very patient with. She's 7 weeks old and she's already got most of her silver lacing, and her face has the red stuff developing. Any ideas? Something fun and cute? She deserves it!
Thanks so much guys! I love it here at BYC!!!
