Narragansett turkey poults first run

This is not necessary, but if you ever raise any others you can add chicks as “turkey trainers.”
I put a few chicks in with my poults during the first week or so to “train” them how to eat and drink.

I do not use chicks as trainers. Poults imprint very easily and it does not take very long to have them with chicks to cause the imprinting. The imprinting does work in both directions.

I have found that chicks as trainers is completely unnecessary.
