natural pest deterrent?

Why would I spray anything in a chickens eyes? Never said anything about spraying the chicken anyway, just the coop to prevent.
Mites or whatever are possible, can be brought in by other birds, my neighbors chickens etc so why not be careful? It was just an idea.
I didn't think this was the kind of community that would make fun of someone with a question just to feel big

No intent to poke fun. With some pest I refrain from treating until they are known to be present and are impacting flock enough to justify cost / risk associated with treatment.
