We went away for a couple of weeks in July and when we got back my potato plants were absolutely covered with potato beetles. I set the chickens on them but apparently they feel the same away about potato beetles as I feel about anchovies on my pizza... blech! I tried picking them off but there are soooooo many... I've also tried soapy water spray and diatomaceous earth with no luck. I figured that at least once there was nothing left of the potato plants they'd die off or move on... but no such luck - I just discovered that they are now chowing down on my tomato plants! I'm now at war but I have no weapons and they are definitely winning. I have an organic garden in which my chickens free range so toxic pesticides are out of the question. Does anyone have any potential solutions? Thanks!
