Anyone using this feed? It's new to my feed store and only about .30 cents more than the regular 16% layer pellet. It says soy free, unfortunately not GMO free but oh well. Out of curiosity and lack of knowledge on chicken feed, is there benefits of having a non-soy based diet for hens? I've been feeding them Layena pellets for a while and figured maybe this feed might be a bit more healthy for them? Any thoughts?

I just opened it up and compared it to the Purina Layena. It certainly smells much different (I could smell a big difference as I opened the bag) and looks much different when compared. lol I'm still not sure of the pros and cons other than what the bag says and the small and look.

Smell is a good indicator of quality. If it smells like dust, the first ingredient is probably corn. If it smells sweet, then it's alfalfa.

It definitely smells sweeter. I can't allow my hens to free range as much as I would like due to my surroundings so I'm just trying to find the best, natural, feed for them without breaking the bank.
