Problem: Live vaccine comes in bottle for 10,000 doses; I have 3 chicks
I spoke to my avian vet who says to use 50 gallon for dilution and I can scale down everything since again noas needed
I decided I could handle making 10 gallon total= 2000 doses so ratio of 1/5
If there are 160 cups in 10 gallons/2000 doses that means each dose is .08 cups which for 3 chicks is .24 so close to 1/4 cup
There is another calculation I am trying to manage: the dried milk powder which says use 12.5 oz per 25 gallon final volume
now my final volume for dilution ratio is 50 which would have me using 25 oz but my actual final volume of medication is 10. for this I am using the 25 but again dividing by 5 so using 5 oz of dried milk powder.
I have included the vaccine directions.
Just looking for crowd sourcing and understand I’m not getting veterinary advice- I already did that.
