Yes.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We got 6 pullets from my aunt and uncle in June (hatched 4/23) two turned out to be roosters and one went missing (free ranged during day)

Buff Orpington

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
homesteading, quilting, homeschooling
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We live in rural North Dakota. Currently have one dog, 4 snuggly barn cats, and 5 chickens.
 
(1) Yes Im new to chickens this my first year I got them the last week of Apr.

(2) I currently have 9

(3) I originally ordered 8 from Meyers Hatchery 3 buff orpingtons one of them a rooster 1 red sex link 2 white plymoth rocks and 2 black australorps that unfortunately I lost both australorps to a raccoon over a 2 month period then a friend of mine gave me a barred rock a leghorn and a mix breed a couple of weeks ago

(4) I found BYC over a year ago when I was doing all the research I could before I got my chickens and eventually ended up joining

(5) knitting, cake decorating, painting, sewing and anything thats arts and crafty

(6) live in Louisiana have 4 kids 5 if you count the hubby 1 annoyingly adorable calaco a turtle and currently looking for a property to start a small homestead in TN near hubby's new job to get away from the city life into a more self sustained way of life

I hope you both enjoy being BYC members. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

Personally, I have found the Topic of the Week articles a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
