Need a bit of help with a new batch

i have a hen who has gone broody and a friend was to give us a "few" eggs. When we picked them up yesterday she gave me 19!!! I have placed several under my broody and now have a dozen left. Of course I ran out and purchased an incubator for the remaining dozen today.

Here is where I am puzzled: she had her hen set on the eggs since Monday. Do I start "Day 1" from Monday or today? Secondly, does the broody batch have a different date than those in the incubator?

I would start day 1 from Monday and the date of hatch doesn't change weather or not if you are using a broody hen or an incubated hope this helps

O and are you using a standard breed of chicken or a bantam as I have seen standard breeds with up to 14 eggs

Hen is a bantam. I thought seven was plenty to get under her!
