Need a little help chickie door size??

This is our coop it coming along,

But my question is how big should i make the chicken door for them to go from coop to run you know, like doggy door size 6X8 or what?

We made ours 12"x 12", mainly because it works with the kind of siding we chose for the outside.

Ours is 12"x12", we have large breeds. Might be a bit big, but there's no traffic jams.

However, I was suprpised to find that the 90 lbs GSD could get through it. I think he thought we were building him a dog house.

Ours is 12" wide and 18" tall cos they are fat chickens

They so need a treadmill

But seriously, when we first built this for our first flock, they were all heavy breeds, so we elected to make the hole a little bigger so if they had a 3 Stooges routine going with the door they wouldnt get stuck to where we would have to Crisco them out.
