I just added 2 leghorn hens to my flock of Jersey giants. Everything is fine with the hens but the dang rooster chases the new hens very aggressively it seems. Will this all get worked out over time they have only been together for 4 days or should I try to remove the rooster for a week or so. The new hens are about 4 months old the rest of the flock is about a year old. Just not sure what to do. The leghorns won't even come out of the coop. The rooster always has his eye on them but he doesn't try to attack them in the coop. Just out in the run.

Thanks for the reply. I don't think the comb is the reason because they both have a fairly small comb at this time. It's just odd to me because I assumed the rooster would be fine and I would have to watch the young ones around the hens but it's the exact opposite.
