I bought 4 hens about 6 months ago but only 3 turned out to actually be hens. At first (and I still do) I liked the idea of having a rooster as a novelty as I do not plan to hatch any of the eggs. Well, as all roosters do, he started crowing especially loud at 5:30AM. Unfortunately against my will I cant keep him nor do I wish to kill or use an anti crow collar. Would anyone be willing to take him? I'm hoping to find him a good home because the second option is unfortunately killing him which I don't want to do. He's really gentle but doesn't like to be picked up too much. He won't peck or attack you if you do pick him up but he'll struggle at first to get away but secretly likes belly scratches. Like I said, just a crowing issue, otherwise an all around good boy. Let me know if you can take him please!

Found him a new home. At first I was concerned that maybe whoever was picking him up might use him for fighting or just eat him but the guy had pictures of his chickens so it seemed kinda legit. Hopefully my rooster finds peace at his new home.

Ironically had an interested party emailing regarding my CL Cockerel/Roo post this weekend; although lived in city as I do(roo ordinances) who was going to start flock with a Roo(does that sound right?) And was determined to pick up before Saturday evening, now hasnt respond to my Saturday night email to set up a different pick up since I was slammed with commitments to accommodate their"need".
Fishy!!

yea seems kinda odd to want a rooster in the city. We're out of the city so its a little more normal but you never know someones true intentions.

I grew up in Dartmouth area, had many Roosters growing up.. Several Rhode Island Red Roos but no Buffs..
This one hatched from this summer broody with a neighbors fertile eggs(he has a quiet Roo and neighbors who enjoy his low crow); you can't control what hatches and it's pretty boy with a interesting peacomb..
I just played along with the emails but since no responses to last email from Saturday night, it's obvious it wasn't a good match..
