I have seven chickens- two rhodi reds, two Ameraucana and three barred rock. They have a very large coop and connected run which is approx 10ftx4ft. For the last couple years they have been able to free range on about two acres but now they're wandering to the neighbors' gardens so we have to gate them. We're either going to add a door to the coop and a 50ftx50ft fenced area w/o a roof or add onto the run. I'm interested to know if anyone has experience w these breeds and if they're likely to fly out of an inclosure this size. We're thinking a four or five foot fence.

You should probably opt for a six foot fence, to be safe, and so you can add other breeds later on that are more able flyers. It is probably better to have a tall enough fence in the first place than to have to build/rebuild taller fence in the future. As for the run size, 50'x50' is plenty of room... chickens like to have at least 10 sq. ft. to run around in outside each. You could add a 10'x10' run and they'd be happy enough, if you wanted a smaller run then 50'x50'-- which sounds huge to me.
