I just got some SQ cochins, and the lady kept them in cages in her garage. When I got them, she made the comment that they have never seen the sun. I made them a chicken tractor (for quarintineing them) Is there anything I should do, since I"m putting them outside on the ground. ??? I don't want them to get sick or anything, as I"m presuming they don't have the normal immunity to outside things. I do put ACV in my water. Any thing else I should give them.???

Thank You, that is what I figured. They will be alot happier when I get them out of the cages. I"ve got it done, and I"m getting ready to put them in it now.

I think all animals should be out. We have horses, and it breaks my heart to see ones that live in stalls and have never been out in a pasture to run and play. I feel the same out my chickens, I love watching them, when I open the door in the morning and they all flock out running a flapping thier wings.

Aww bless their little hearts, that is so sad! Thank you for giving them a chance to know what a chicken's life should really be like!

I actually refused to sell to a lady who told me she keeps all her birds in dog carriers, seperated and they have never been out of her basement. To me, that's just wrong but that's my opinion!
I am glad your chickens have a good owner!

Chickens and especially horses. They are more healthy outside. Its sad to see a horse in a stall 24-7. This is how they sometimes develop vices.

It sounds like they're doing just fine. I'm surprised she never let them out into the sunlight; don't all creatures who are supposed to live on the earth's surface get benefits from sunlight?
