Need advice for my rooster

I have a 7 week possible 8 week old rooster and today he pecked at me what should i do because i know it will get worse. I went to touch his lady and he pecked me so i flicked his chest once and he backed off but what should i do next time.....and isnt it a little early to start this....

What breed? I don't like forward cockerel. They often turn into forward adults.

Rooster care and raising can be a diverse topic. Some like hands on, and others like me like hands off, but in this circumstance I might have grabbed him and held him for a bit before releasing him. If it's unpleasant enough he may not do it again. Most chickens don't like being held, especially when young as it mimics being grabbed by a predator.

Mine all like it and I isally leave him alone however I want him used to me handling his ladies....and I have older hens that will someday teach him right but who knows....he is supposedly and black Orphington with a choclate gene
