Need advice on child showing chickens.

My child is wanting to show this fall and has never shown before. I have shown and know what is expected. We do not have a 4-H Poultry club here. What is he expected to do or know? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would call the fair organizers and ask what is involved. I'm sure its different from state to state.

Yes, he has joined the APA-ABA youth program. Have also ordered the handbook. Printed out alot of info. But will he have to know all of that before he shows?

It goes by age range. The younger the child the less they need to know. In the Showmanship section they have the sheets with the answers that each should be familiar with. A judge will not necessarily ask all of those questions, but it's a pool from which they can draw so the child should have at least a passing knowledge of it.
