Need advice on euthanization

I have a pet hen that lived inside a majority of the time and has fallen ill do to her ascites. I no longer want her to suffer and would like to put her down at home. Is there anything I could give her for euthanization? No gun no ax!

I was having the same dilemma and had already resigned to using an axe and a bucket but was not looking forward to the task when I randomly came across someone recommending this method:

I felt bad afterwards, but the process itself was not as bad as an axe, flapping and blood would have been
