Need advice on incubator temperature

I posted this in another thread but I don’t think I asked the question very clearly. As you can see from the picture, the incubator thermometer is reading 3 degrees higher than the thermometer I placed in there.

How do I know which one is more accurate? If it really is 96 degrees at the bottom is that bad enough to mess up my hatch?

If I need to raise temp of incubator I’m not even sure how I would do that since it’s automatic. I would like to set some eggs Sunday so I still have some time. Just need some advice.
 
Either one could be right or both could be wrong. I prefer old school analog thermometers and hygrometers that I can pre-calibrate before every hatch so that I know I am working with 100% accurate instruments. Digital accuracy can be iffy.
