I purchased a new doe last month and I'm having trouble with getting her socialized. I've never had this issue before. The other rabbits that I bought on the same day are already comfortable around me, but this doe is very skittish. I've always thought that the more often you handled your rabbits, the tamer they get. Well, not so with this doe. She is about 9 months old and backs into the corner of her cage anytime we go out in the yard. She's still really scared of me, so I've been getting her out of her cage at least once a day for some petting and treats. She will not calm down, no matter how long I hold and cuddle her. And she will never take my treats. What should I do? Should I keep getting her out a little each day, or should I just leave here be cause that is just her temperment?

Thanks!

Not all rabbits like to be held, that may be her problem. I'm in sort of the same situation (socializing a rescue rabbit) and this is what I've read - open her cage, and just sit near her. Let her come out and sniff you and do whatever she wants. Let her get used to your presence before trying to hold her or pet her. Do this for 15 minutes at a time every day.
