Need advice

Does anyone have an issue with an updraft on gambrel roofs that have that open ledge area?
I hope I explained that well enough.
With the turbine on the roof, I’m worried about up draft. It is going to be reroofed but not anytime soon. I can fix any issues with that later. But don’t want my chickens roosting near a draft.
Not sure what this means "open ledge area"?

Did you tear off old siding or just add new over the old?
Is the framing inside sound?
Any rotting along bottom of walls or where roof might have leaked?
Roofing should be first thing done if it's leaking.
There's a nifty way to increase ventilation on gambrel roofs.

Caulking is not likely to fix any seepage under walls and onto concrete floor....covering it with a wooden floor is not a great idea...need to keep all water out of coop.

Hi art, Thank you for replying.
The bones are good. The roof doesn’t leak.
I was thinking of an elevated floor on cca posts, but that looks pretty difficult at this point. I’m going to try to extend something out so rain won’t hit the concrete at all.
Hi to easy increase ventilation with gambrel roof?

This design includes extending the rafters/overhangs.
Not sure it will help mug as your already have decent over hang on the bottom roof plane.

I have a vent area at the eave overhang. That was one thing i was worried about is an updraft from there since there is a turbine on the roof.
I like how extra venting can be put in with your sketch.
I appreciate the info very much!

That's a good thing.
Is the turbine powered or passive?

It is passive. But yeah!!!! We have a new game plan!!!
It is taking much longer than we anticipated to get this shed the way I want it. I saw a really nice chicken coop at a place that sells sheds. It is expensive, which is why we didn’t buy it. But at this point I have 5 chicks in my kennel building. Did I mention I have “bird dogs?”
That coop is sounding cheaper by the day, lol.
I’m going to go buy it now. Hopefully they can deliver it soon!
I’m still going to work on the shed, but I won’t be rushed and can figure out how I want it as I go.
The new coop is 6x6 and very sturdy. It is Mennonite built. It has cute trim! I will redo the pen with .25 hardware cloth though.
Oh. When I looked at it a couple of months ago, it had clover mites all over it. I don’t think it’s red mites. It is new.
Is it safe to set off an insecticide bomb on the inside? I’m thinking one of the pyrethrin or permethrin one’s and let it set a few days before I move the chicks.
Let me know please.
