I adopted three baby ducks two weeks ago and they were 3 days old so im almost positive they are about two and a half weeks old. Then i bought three more babies today. They are probably 2 days old right now. Well i have them separated from the other three. Cause when i introduced them the older ones wouldnt stop picking on them which i knew would happen. But i was wondering if anyone knows how long i have to wait to put the little ones in with the big ones? Do i have to wait till they are fully grown or just when they are big enough to defend themselves? Does anyone know why the bigger ones do pick on them so much? Is it a domenence thing? Or do they not just like them. The only place they were pecking on them was the head and beaks. Thank You!

another poster said she was having the same problem, don't know why ducks and chickens and also geese do this. but it's normal behaviour. any way she had them all in a large brooder with plexi glass in between them so they could see each other but not touch didn't take to long before she was able to mix them. Can't remember how long she said though. just went and found the post. She said it took one night, might take a little longer, but you never know.

Try giving them bits of green grass or lettuce in their water, just sprinkle it . I read this as a way to keep them from pecking...worked for mine and I had mini-ducks with Runners and they had a big size difference..... they need must need something in the grass /lettuce. Cut it into small bits with scissors and feed daily.
