Need advice.

Hello, I am new to this. I have a question. My chickens are starting to roost very early about 2 or 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Doesn't get dark till around 8. This morning around 9 they were still in there. They came out this morning. Why would they go roost so early and come out late? Thanks for any advice you could give.

Hello and welcome. They are coming inside for a little nap. My girls also hang out inside the coop during the day hours for a rest. Some are up on the roost and the others lay down on the coop floor.
