Ok this is the only barred rock still in questions. The rest are waking me up so I know where there new home is. Saturday they meet the freezer. Anywho I don't know if this one should join the other 5. No tail really. Its odd the tail feathers kinda just curl so it looks like it has no tail at all. Super shy. Not heard a peep out of it yet. But its comb is as big as some of the roosters. Don't want to kill a hen though so.... If you have an opinion let me know.

What you can't see in this picture is longer feather have developed but they literally curl under. Short curly feathers. Its very odd. I can't begin to guess on this one.

The feathers look like a hen. A BR rooster will have lighter colored plumage than a hen. Plus the feathers are all rounded - no pointed sickle feathers can be seen.

So, my vote is hen.

Are you talkiing about the one next to the fence?
I have two that look just like it, purchased as pullets,
they are 15.5 weeks, pink comb and waddles. When I posted
a couple of weeks ago on here most said roos. Sorry, I guess
I would just wait for them to crow like I am. The one with only the
tail in the picture looks like a hen.

I think the chick in question looks very much pullet to me. Give her the chance the stay home from freezer camp.

It looks like a Roo. Just the least dominant one. If you can hold on to it for a couple weeks after the rest are gone, I bet it will start crowing.

Age?
