Why don’t you just purchase an auto coop door? I got mine from Flemings outdoor supply on the Internet. They have video instruction on how to install it, super easy! I run it off batteries. I installed mine myself and I love it! It should be great for someone like you that only goes away overnight.

I love my auto coop door! I don’t trust anyone to faithfully show up at the right times to let them out or put them back in safely at night.
