Just as the title states I got a really weird MM order Friday Morning. I had ordered the 25 Brown Egg layer assortment. I recieved birds that are not listed on the website for this assortment ie..27 total birds recieved ...3 are EE;s and 4 are Dominiques....the rest that I did get are what you would expect ie. Dark Cornish, BR, Black sex links, White rock, BO, SLW and a very light red with eyelinner which I think is a Red sexlink. I don't think the odd birds are just packing peanuts, becuase if you subtract them you only are left with 20 birds?

I am trying to figure out what they did, I will be calling them in the morning, but has anyone recieved layers from thier rare section, in the Brown egg layer package??

I was looking at ordering the BELP from Mcmurray a week or 2 ago. Then I went through and looked at the availability of each breed that they listed that layed brown eggs. They only had about 5 breeds that were still available, and they had limited availability. I agree with above... They are getting towards the end of thier year and it's getting slim pickings around there.

OH YEAH, and I do remember something durring checkout about sending 1 free chick with every order. It was like a weekly special or something.

you get 1 random "rare breed" with all over 25. as far as the random birds go they just needed to fill the order. But hey if you got some EE then I think you got the better end of it.

LUCKY! They probably had a few extra Dominiques and added them to your order even though they are classified as "rare". They are sweet birds, you're sure to love them. I'm not sure how EEs get into a brown assortment, though. I wouldn't complain (especially since 2 out of 3 were free) but as others have mentioned, it's likely they've scaled back their hatches for the fall season and they did what they needed to do to fill your order.
