Hello Everyone! My son and I have purchased two Rouen ducklings from the co-op. They are such a joy. We’ve joined this thread to learn more about them and how to raise them to be happy healthy comfortable Ducks. We bought them to be our pets. We have an old chicken coup that my son and I have worked hard on to get it ready for our little friends. We aren’t sure about the sex of them, but that really doesn’t matter to us. We just want to love them for what they are. We are brand new to this, we seem to be doing a great job so far. I’m not sure if the age, to me they could be a few weeks old, but then again I’ve never seen a duckling or chicken hatch. Thank you all for my son and I will learn a lot. We will keep everyone posted on their progress. Would it be ok to feed my little guys worms from the yard? My son and I broke them up and the ducklings went nuts. Now when we reach In to clean they think momma is feeding them lol.

It sounds like you and your son are doing well with the ducks (and having a great time with them). I've never raised ducks but @007Sean has given you a link to the Duck forum and members there will be a lot of help to you.

Thank you. I just noticed I was on the chicken portion of the page. We are trying a couple chickens next year. That is if they get along

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out. There are some down the bottom of the page which are duck specific.

Is that Daffy and Littlefoot in your avatar? They are adorable! If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of them, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Including your general location on your profile will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.
