I have four baby chicks (about 1 week old) and my power just went out so I'm figuring out a way to keep them warm. The reason I am posting this is because something is wrong with Zinnie, the second smallest chick. Please PLEASE help!

She is standing still and has her eyes tightly closed. I am using Mcdonald's wifi, but I need to go home soon so please reply asap! :hit:bow Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Yeah, I'm panicking.)

Are they inside the house or out in the cold? Bring them inside. If you are still there you could try to keep them warm against your body, or fill up a hot water bottle and cover with a towel. There is always a car heater if you stay in there with them. Hopefully it won’t last too long.

I'm still away from home, but the chicks were moved into my heated up car. What can I do for Zinnie???? Thats what I wanted to know mostly.

Was she like this before the power went out? If it just started it’s possible that she’s just cold.
I would bring them in the house and try a warm water bottle for them to snuggle up too.
Fingers crossed your power comes back on soon!

I need more replies quick because I have to go home soon.
Should I separate Zinnie incase she has a disease????

Set them in the car, and try to get the temp around 90F, hopefully after a while your power will turn back on.Even if Zinnie did have a disease the other chicks would most likely be already contaminated, just keep her with the flock.

Thank you! They are in my warmed up car at home right now. I will call home and tell them. :p

I will also tell them about the water bottle. Anything I can do to treat Zinnie if it isn't cold?
