Need help finding Cornish X for best price

I heard from a University of Arkansas School of Agriculture professor that the Cornish X's sold at some hatcheries are not the same strain as sold to the big meat producers. Their production strains, sometimes called "broilers", grow out faster than their "Cornish X" strain. He did not mention which hatcheries and, since that is not my interest, I did not ask. The Cornish X will still grow out faster than the dual purpose breeds, but it might be worth a question to the hatchery before you purchase them. A little extra cost in purchasing the birds might save you something in food bills.

Life is never simple.

Good to know about the possible differences in breeds. I will make sure to check both the broilers and cornish X.

Thanks for the new information everyone. Will check them out.

Boyd- I got them at Farm & Home Supply

Thanks again,
Sean
