Hi all, please refer to my other posts dated: Sept.12th, Sept. 19th, & Oct. 5th. to get more info. I'm trying to posts updates on my same posts but for some reason no one sees them or doesn't respond. So it seems I have to start a new thread just to posts updates. Here's what I tried to post yesterday. Hopefully someone sees this and can help me!

Original post on 10-6-25 (see below):
Hi All, I bought these two products below at Tractor Supply today. I am dealing with a problem with one of my hens. The fellow at tractor supply recommended fly x. I've never used either one of these products before. I asked him for elector PSP because a lot of people highly recommend this even on here, because it gets rid of the pest right away! However, it's kind of out of my budget right now! So I was looking for permithin 10. Tractor supply didn't have the elector PSP but did have the permithin 10. I almost got the permithin 10. Then, he turned me on to the fly x product and said that it has the same ingredients as elector PSP.

Then somebody recommended the garden poultry dust. And it has permethian in it as well. I haven't used either one of these products. And although I have read the instructions, I would like some more help and guidance on using these products. If anyone else has used these products on here? I need to start treating my hen with the lice today. So hopefully somebody sees this and can help me out! Thank you!

Garden dust with permethrin is exactly the right product. That's the same can we have and use for fruit flies in parrot cages and works great! We've always monthly sprinkled diatomaceous earth to keep mites out of the coop, and have for 9 years, but if they ever got an outbreak, the stuff you have is what I'd use.

You can dust your birds with it. One idea is put it in a nylon sock and pat your birds down, getting under the wings and vent area especially. Then clean your coop and dust this everywhere including nest boxes and roosts. It's advised to do this all again in 10 days to be sure you got the eggs that hatched in the meantime.
