Need help on coon proofing my nesting box, please

After seeing the coon, I bought locks for all doors. But my nest box is an old cabinet that was repurposed. I am having difficulty in trying to get a clasp look to work. Sorry about the shadows.

You could always add a piece of wood to the outside frame, so that it was level with the door. Just attach it with sturdy wood screws.
 
a short piece of chain with two eye hooks works for me,open the eye on one of the hooks wide enough to slip a link in the loop then bend it shut,screw it in the wall and screw another eye hook in for the other end of the chain,a small padlock run through the chain and the eye hook will work,,the latch your using is worthless for preventing predators from doing damage
