Need help please...coop floor/litter

Just built a good size coop & the flooring is left over wood/plastic decking. My problem is that the pine bedding is falling between the planks, in some place we have a 1/4-1/2 inch gap between the boards. I wanted to use the deep litter method but now I can't figure out how. Any ideas? Thanks, Angela

I have mine with solid plywood pieces, but a lot of people here cover their floors with vinyl, apparently makes for easy cleanup.

As a permanent solution, I would suggest plywood rather than vinyl in your situation, since you have lotsa gaps. Reason being it will better discourage mice from oozing up between the cracks and chewing their way in. I would recommend priming/painting the plywood, preferably with exterior semigloss, although you don't *have* to, it just makes it easier to clean.

This will prevent any litter from falling through and has the added benefit of being removable when you have to scrub the coop. Since it will be under several inches of bedding, the chickens won't even know it is there.
