need help posting pics

I'm doing something wrong can someone assist me w/posting pics? Nomatter what I do my pics end up on the same spot and right on top of my text.

Type your message then put your cursor at the end of the text. like this - then insert your image. The html code should show up where the picture will be in the post. If it's not where you want it cut and paste it where it needs to be. Hope that makes sense.
