Need help! Puzzled with the date on egg cartons.

I just start selling eggs from my farm. I can buy the cartons online, but how about the date on cartons? Is there any solution that I can add the date on cartons? Any comment is welcome.Thank you.

There are many date stampers available including self inking ones.

Egg farms use the pack date (which isn't necessarily the date the eggs were laid).
Many use the Julian date (day of the year) rather than day/month/year.

If they are USDA grade, they must have the Julian date which is usually printed on the short side of the carton.

I just write the date I start filling the carton in pen on the carton.

If and how you mark the date on the carton my depend on who are selling to and your local laws.
I only sell to a few acquaintances, don't mark the cartons at all, and I reuse cartons.
