I am sad to say that we are getting rid of our rooster. But, I'm happy that he is going to a home where he will have the chance to lead a happy life.

How do I get him there? It's a few hours in the car. What is best for him ? A dark box? A wire dog crate? A cat kennel? Small places? Big places? Dark? Light?

A simple box with holes for air would be fine. The box doesn't have to be very big. Once the car gets rollin' he will settle down and mostly keep quiet.

I've transported my big RIR roo a couple times, we just used a big plastic dog crate bedded with hay and partially covered with a towel. He settled right in and traveled like a pro.

I carried my in a cat box..no litter, no hay...they did just fine. they sat in the front watching eveything.
