I am in need of help I am wanting to raise quail and pheasent but don't know how to get the permits to sell and buy them any help would be great

Coturnix quail do not require a permit to keep. Some pheasants, especially Ringnecks do require permits to keep, as well as all new world quail. And you would definitely need a permit to sell any of these birds.

You need to contact your local town hall or fish and game. They will give you the forms you will need to fill out and get licensing from.

If you are keeping any variety of Coturnix, no you do not need any permits to keep them. Selling them can be a different story.

As for keeping pheasants...I believe it works on the same lines as our native quail. If you are keeping pheasants that are native to this country, you will need permits. If they are a non native species, then you do not need any permits. But again, selling them may be a different story. You still may need to contact your town hall to make sure you can sell them legally with out licensing.

You will need to ask at the city or town hall about that. Every state is different. They can tell you more than I can. :)
