Personally, I would never kennel a dog outside in freezing weather, or blazing hot. I used to breed dogs and had in/out doors they would operate themselves. But if it was horrible out or bedtime, I would block the dogs to keep them safe indoors. I had a 6 ft. security fence around the dog runs but, too many critters could have scaled it.
