Yup, ya gotta band them.Wing bands work best. Write the band # in a ledger, along with any pertinant info on each fowl. When you mate them, mate only one male and one female, penned together. The ducklings from that pair should be leg banded with a colored zip tie and good records kept as to hatch date, parents band numbers, etc. When the youngsters are feathered, wing band them and transcribe all the info for them. Lots of record keeping and penning birds apart from the flock. If you have more that one duck to service and only one drake, pen them all alone and move the drake around every 2-3 days. If you don`t pen them alone, you won`t know what offspring came from which duck........Pop
