Need some help please! What is this on one of the baby chicks that just hatched? The other 5 are doing well but this one is still not thriving, not fluffing up at all either. I have fed it chicken yolk and tried soaking the butt in some warm water. then the other chicks started pecking at this ones bum so I have it separated......thank you so much!

Looks like vent prolapse to me.

If thats the case, heres what i would recommend.

Separating is definitely good. Keep her separated.

Clean it. Use a antimicrobial

Soak in warm water, and with gloves on. lubricated. Then gently, very gently. Press it back in

If it continues to come out or is to tight, bring her to a vet. Or do so now.

Don’t solely take my word on this, hopefully someone else can come along and help to.

That an unabsorbed umbilicus,(the vent is up higher).

Hopefully it will retract within 24 hours.
I will keep an eye on it for sure and hope it starts retracting. The baby is currently chirping loudly because it can't be with its hatchling friends.

Put a mirror with it. They are smart and know the difference, but it helps.

It can be with it's hatchmates, just keep an eye out for any pecking.
