I received two chickens (around 3 months old) from a neighbor. I was told they were "just chickens" lol so there is no telling what kind of cross they might be. They appear a bit small...by 2 Barred Rock girls are only 2 months old and much bigger...so im guessing these may be a sort of bantam?

Thanks!!

they look like two millie fleur duccle hens

Yes! or at least a cross!! Thank you! They are quite pretty gals. Have never been handled so hoping to get them calmed down a bit. Curious about egg production as well. I dont mind small eggs at all :) Thank you so much!

they tend to lay lots of small cream colored eggs and i have found them to be the sweetest breed of chicken i have next to silkies they are full of personality too

i have a hen thats 7 years old and still lays eggs surprisingly

Not d'Uccles, they don't have any trace of beards, foot feathering or vulture hocks and those traits are all dominant and really hard to cross out. More likely they are Mille Fleur Old English Game Bantam, or a mix containing it.

I figured some sort of cross. All the same i hope they lay! i know they probably will but even if its one or two a week, im ok with that..especially when i have 4 others that should be great layers! Thanks for your help

If so...how likely will it be that they produce decent amount of eggs? what should i expect? Thanks so much
If they are OEG/OEG mixes, they won't be great layers, but they should still lay at least 3-4 eggs a week. the eggs will be a little smaller than other chicken's eggs, and a white/cream in color.
