She seems healthy, eating drinking and dust bathing, maybe a little disoriented? She started making a baaawk sound two days ago, sometimes very loud. It's a single "baaawk" every 5 to 10 seconds and she takes breaks. Seems to happen more when she spots me or my so. But definitely strange behavior and almost like she needs something from us.

Coincidentally one of her mates went broody 2 days ago. Not sure if this is making everyone a little crazy?

She does it continuously throughout the day, definitely weird for her. They chat normally but this is a louder sound. I guess I'll just let it be. She seems healthy otherwise. Only thing I could think of was she was missing the broody hen.

That could be a possibility, she maybe looking/calling for her.

Some of mine can get a wild hair and not shut up for hours...sometimes it goes on for days, then stops<shrugs>

How old is she? Is she an established layer? Sometimes when they start laying, or start back laying, they can get a bit mouthy. Otherwise, she's doing a "Here I am! Where are you?" call.

Just an update, turns out she's egg bound :( so I'm treating her for that right now. She was walking very funny today, and I did some research. Pretty sure she's having trouble laying and I think it might have happened because my broody hen was hogging their favorite nest.

So wish me luck

Bummer! Best of cLuck for successful treatment.

Stress of fav nest may have contributed.....but usually a physical malformation or lack of calcium and/or minerals to assimilate it for effecient peristalsis.
Put fake eggs/golf balls in other nests to encourage their use.
