As some of you may know I'm getting married soon and I have to pick songs to play at the reception. The only problem is that I enjoy A LOT of music. Very few genres or bands I dont like. All I could come up with was songs I did NOT want played (shout and we are family, etc.). I asked people to request a song on the RSVP but most of them Ive gotten back so far they didnt request a song. On top of it my future MIL doesnt really want to dance with her son because "she cant dance" so she said she wants something really really short. I offered God Only Knows by the Beach Boys and Pigs on a Wing Part one by pink floyd but shes still undecided. I gave her a whole list of songs as well. I need her to pick something soon but she's so worried about the song being too long. Anyways I'd love it if you all can help me fill my DJ list. I have like 80 something songs to pick :idunno

You could do “September” by wind and fire. That’s one of my favourite songs. It’s relatively short, but I just chose it because I thought it was catchy. I hope your wedding goes well :)

When I got married, I chose "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong for the dance with my father. It's a charming classic and fairly short.
My father and I are dancing to "Life on Mars" by Bowie. I guess I just can't understand why you wouldn't want to have that moment. I can't dance either but I love my dad and he's handing me off to another man. The symbolism is the point.

Other songs I love at weddings:
"When I'm Sixty-Four", The Beatles
"Recipe for Love", Harry Connick, Jr.
"Head Over Heels", Tears for Fears
"Time Warp", Rocky Horror Picture Show Soundtrack

Anything Motown...
I know 3 out of 4 of these. I love RHPS but I kinda want to avoid anything that will encourage line dancing...we're pretty country out here. I'll check on Recipe for Love. Don't think I've ever heard that one.

Checked it out. That and disco are the genres I dont like. I hear it and just think of Richard Cheese. I dont mind Night Fever by the Bee Gees but thats about it. Disco is just so repetitive. I'm not sure what you call that genre

Choosing a nice suit was always challenging for me. The most important factor was the quality of it. After trying on countless suits, I discovered that the ones that looked good were also made well.

I guess 'I can't dance' by genesis for the mother-son dance?
The DJ can always fade out fast.
