Need help!

Hey! We had three hens, but a few days ago the neighbours dog got loose and killed one of them. Today he came and gave us a new chicken around 9 weeks old...

What do I do now? How should I introduce the new one to the other two?

The new one is an orpington, the others are leghorns

Sorry for your loss, but how nice that your neighbor was responsible and replaced your chicken. (not everyone is like that) Read up on the integration articles - that will help things go more smoothly.

Tho it is nice that the neighbor took responsibility.....
.....I would want to procure my own replacement bird, with the neighbor's money of course.

Those were my thoughts exactly. In the neighbor's thought, he did the right thing, and in theory, he did. But all chickens are not created equal. He would not know that!

well if you don't like the bird, sell it. I think it was a huge token to let's get along in the neighborhood.

I would do the whole look but not touch for a good while, then I would split the pair, one with the new bird in the biggest space. Then try the whole group.
