I have three quail, a female who is laying eggs and two males. One male is regular bobwhite and one is a black masked bob. Of course the two males are fighting and I have been having to keep the black masked bob by himself which is killing me. Nothing should be alone. I don't want to get more to go with him because I didn't want them to begin with. I got them from a woman who was going to train her hunting dogs with them. I wanted to release them but found that the mortality rate is about 90% because they have no predator skills. I have them in a large outside pen that is about 10x4x5 so they are getting fresh air and sun but the one lonely guy is in a small hutch near the big one. They call to each other all the time.
