ive heard alot of things about incubating but i need some more help.

1) is it better to move eggs to a carton when they are supposed to hatch or leave them flat? (big or little end up?)

2) should i move the to the brooder when they fluff up or until they are running around?

3) any brooder box ideas?

THANKS!!!

If you chose a carton then big end up. Whether you chose a carton is up to you. I prefer the egg soccer method. I feel the movement promotes movement but the jury is definitely split.

Don't move them out of the hatcher until the hatch is over. I give 72 hours from first pip until I open the bator and remove chicks then check viability of non hatched eggs.

Brooder ideas? A plastic tote and a 40w light in a shielded brooder light fitting works for me when I am doing a standard backyard size hatch of <24 chicks.

thank you! when should i put them in the carton if im going to hatch them that way?
