need names for my 5 new hens

i got 1 buff orpington ; 1 black australorp ( im not sure though she has black legs) ;1 white crested black polish ; 1 silver laced wyandotte ; 1 dominique.

correct me if im wrong by saying she has black legs. im not sure which one has black. BA or BJG.

i got them on the 19th of july and the dominique ; buff orpington ; and black australorp ( BJG) have already greeted me with 3 large brown eggs.

I like to name by the origin country of the breed - i.e. Buff Orps originated in England so I would look thru the British names, etc. You can search by origin here

The only problem will be your Australorp....there are no specific Australian names...but you could always call her Sydney!

Both Black Australorps and BJGs have black legs. But a BA has pink feet on the bottom, and a JG has yellow.

I name mine after chickens or people in books based on the hen's personality. My hen names are: Gwendolyn, Martha, and Chick.

I'd name the Buff Orpington Buffy, the Black Australorp Sydney, the White Crested Polish ?????, The Silver Laced Wyandotte Lace and the Dominque Anne.
