I was given a new Silkie yesterday from a sweet friend here on this forum who gave us Silkie eggs to hatch. Of the ones that hatched one of ours didn't make it and the kids had gotten attached so she kindly invited us to her home to see her Silkies and then gave the children a sweet little Partridge chick (I think he is about a week old).

Anyway -- he has been very lethargic and not doing much of anything all day. When he stands up he seems to actually tip forward while standing and just sleep.

I have tried putting him in a brooder with other Silkies -- then moving him with just some younger two day old chicks (he is really tiny - in fact when I pick him up he is lighter than any of my other Silkies were even at a day old), then with all the chicks. I have one brooder that is a bit warmer than the other so I have tried each one thinking one might be too hot or one might not be warm enough.

He has access to sugar water, medicated food, and I just made him some scrambled eggs -- but nothing seems to interest him/her.

When I get him out and hold him he just lies in my hand. When...I let him walk around on my desk -- he does walk fine but when he stops he just tilts over forward.

Any ideas??? Trying to not let the girls get attached to him but he is so stinkin' cute. They had a really hard time when our Bubba died at just 5 days old.
